Videographer Junior+

Description of position:

Our dynamic product sourcing and marketing company is looking for a talented videographer and video editor to join our high-capacity creative team. The ideal candidate is a Gen-Zer and “gets” social media, trending content and the quickly evolving online and social media landscape. This is an opportunity to become part of a small, fun and hardworking team that likes to create and innovate. You will have much scope and creative freedom as you shoot and edit a wide variety of product and advertising videos with a strong slant towards social media content and “going viral” (easier said than done, we know). You will be part of a creative team that serves the greater national and international company and its wide variety of brands, products and projects.

About the role:

• Your primary responsibilities will include shooting and editing video content for web/online and social media platforms.
• The role will include script writing, shoot planning and executing videos as your own DOP as well as working with the in-house video lead/DOP on bigger projects.
• You will have free reign in our in-house video and photography studio that is fully equipped with lighting, and gadgets to execute great video.
• The role will also include working on location shoots and helping with location shoot planning.
• Excellent Communication ability is essential as you will need to be able to effectively communicate with various team members to understand needs and provide creative solutions.
• This role is ideal for someone who wants to be given responsibility and a high level of creative freedom and then trusted to run with it and have fun.

Education: formal qualifications:

• National diploma (3 years) or bachelor’s degree in film and video production.

 Or an insanely talented and passionate new-school GenZ’er that wields an iPhone camera with the skill and precision of a pre-Sengoku Ninja and can control light with their mind.

Skills and experience:

• Newly graduated up to three years of experience.
• Proficient in Adobe Premier.
• Adobe After Effects is a plus.
• Up to date with popular Apps and tools for editing and creating content tailored for social media.
• Hunger to learn, grow, experiment and develop in all areas of videography and production
• Understanding of studio lighting.
• Candidate must have own transport, valid driver’s license and willingness to travel in the area for location-based shoots.

Advantageous:

• Product Photography Experience
• Photoshop and Illustrator skills
