ICT minister to unveil Mobile Monday KampalaAggrey Awori, Uganda's information and communication technology minister, is expected to officially launch Mobile Monday in the country on Women's Day, 8 March 2010 in Kampala, according to Daniel Stern the lead organiser of the city's association. ![]() Jari Tammisto, MoMo chief executive officer, who will be in the Uganda for the 2010 Digital Africa Conference which is from 9 - 11 March, is scheduled to speak at the event about MoMo's progress and future. During the launch, several presentations will be made on the theme Mobile innovations: services and startups, to at least 100 guests who have been invited for the event, Stern said. The official launch of the chapter will come hot on the heels of the inaugural meeting of MoMoKla which was held mid last month, in Kampala. During the meeting, speakers urged mobile operators in Uganda to reduce the cost of mobile broadband connection to boost the number of users, services and products. MoMokla will be the second African chapter to be officially launched after South Africa's in Johannesburg. Plans are also underway to unveil a third chapter in Kenya on 11 March 2010 and another one in Cape Town.
