ICASA to be questioned on local content monitoring
The TVIEC (Television Industry Emergency Coalition) wants to get clarity from ICASA on the monitoring of local content on SABC and has arranged a meeting with it today, Monday 19 October 2009 at 11am. Amongst other issues, the TVIEC is questioning how the broadcaster hopes to meet its local content mandates. The coalition consists of the IPO (Independent Producers Organisation), SASFED (South African Screen Federation), TPA (The Producers Alliance), DFA (Documentary Filmmakers Association), WGSA (Writers Guild of South Africa) and the CWU (Creative Workers Union).
