Phenias Gumede appointed president of Kwanalu
The KZN Agricultural Union, Kwanalu, has appointed cotton and vegetable farmer Phenias Gumede has been elected as President of the KZN Agricultural Union, Kwanalu. Phenias Gumede its president. Gumede is also vice-president of Agri SA and serves on the boards of several agricultural-related organisations.
He will be supported by two vice-presidents, Peter John Hassard and out-going president, Andy Buchan.
Gumede brings his vast experience as both a farmer and at a leadership level, in local and national organised agriculture, to his role as president at a critical time for the industry. Gumede has served as vice-president of the Union since 2005 and as vice-President of Agri SA since 2013.
