Role overview: We are seeking a talented and driven Research and Development/Special projects person to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in assisting the GM with ensuring the consistency, sustainability, and efficacy of our product formulas while contributing to key special projects and collaborations. This role requires a versatile and innovative individual with a keen understanding of product development, health and safety standards, and project management.
Key responsibilities:- Formula consistency and improvement: Ensure consistency in the development of new and existing formulas, always aiming for greener, more efficient, and higher-performing products.
- Research and innovation: Continuously push for efficiencies and improvements in product formulations, looking for ways to enhance the sustainability and efficacy of our solutions.
Project management: Plan and manage milestones for special projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and successful delivery. - Cross-department collaboration: Act as a liaison between production, marketing, and senior management to align project objectives, strategies, and timelines.
- Health and safety compliance: Ensure all formulas meet health and safety standards for various global territories, including the necessary certifications.
- Supplier communication: Build and maintain effective communication with suppliers to ensure Sneaker LAB’s product needs are met, including sourcing raw materials and packaging solutions.
- Collaboration orders and strategy: Manage the planning and execution of future collaboration orders, ensuring proper alignment between internal teams and external partners.
- Sourcing and materials: Identify unique and sustainable raw materials, including bottles, sprays, and other packaging solutions for special projects and collaborations.
Skills and qualifications:- Technical expertise: Strong understanding of microbiology or a related field, with the ability to understand and analyse the intricate details of product formulas.
Formula analysis and efficiency: Demonstrated ability to analyse product compositions and identify opportunities for future improvements in terms of sustainability and performance. - Project management: Ability to plan and manage projects, balancing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Health and safety knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations for different global territories and the ability to ensure compliance across product lines.
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Independence and teamwork: Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented: Meticulous attention to detail and a focus on high-quality execution.
Desirable experience:- Experience in project planning and managing collaborations between different departments (e.g., production, marketing, senior management).
Experience sourcing sustainable raw materials and packaging solutions. - A passion for sustainability and a strong interest in the fashion and technology industries.
