Junior Digital Content Producer - Getaway

Highbury Media (Pty) Ltd T/A Habari Media is a media powerhouse, whose world-class titles connect brands to targeted audiences.We are seeking a Junior Digital Content Producer residing in Cape Town, currently unemployed, to join our dynamic editorial team for Getaway Magazine. 

The successful candidate will execute the following tasks:

• Generating and implementing digital editorial content strategies
• Brainstorming and producing content that is original, relevant, and on-trend for the digital readership
• Managing social media for the brand, and increasing the following on the various platforms
• Generating strategies to increase readership numbers on the website
• Liaising with the advertising team and creating client content when necessary
• Managing the online competitions and following leads by interested parties
• Keeping up to date with digital trends in order to keep the website vibrant
• Keeping a keen eye on relevant news and viral content
• Produce original editorial content and conduct interviews
• Attends events when required

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in media studies, English and/or journalism
• At least one-year work experience in the journalism, media or travel industry
• Have a passion for travel, tourism, wildlife and nature conservation
• Proficiency in WordPress CMS and Mac is beneficial
• Have excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and basic fact-checking skills
• Be creative and energetic
• Able to work accurately under deadline pressure and willing to work overtime when necessary
• Need to have a good understanding of the brand’s principles and ethos
• Photography skills are beneficial
• Valid drivers license
