Minimum requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the industry, with a solid understanding of bursary programme management, fundraising, relationship management, and the facilitation of training.
  • A minimum of five years’ managerial experience, with demonstrated success in leading and managing teams.
Description of the role

The Bursaries and Training Manager will be responsible for managing community chest of the Western Cape’s bursary programme, ensuring that bursary recipients receive appropriate support, mentorship and guidance throughout their academic journey.

The role also involves sourcing new business (sponsorships and funding) as well as engaging with academic institutions and external stakeholders as well as facilitating training programmes to enhance employee development. The Bursaries and Training Manager will play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with academic partners, while driving continual improvement of training initiatives in the organisation in alignment with the changing NPO landscape.
