The creative team of Riaan van Wyk and Jed Dawson of Cape-based advertising agency, Bester Burke developed a tactical print advert for Yardley with an image of its Triple Lash Tear-Proof Mascara and the headline ‘Ricky Martin gay'. The advert ran in Saturday's Weekend Argus on 3 April 2010, four days after his announcement.
