The KLCBT Annual Awards are the Kruger Lowveld's most prestigious business function of the year and are the only platform in the Kruger Lowveld which specifically honours outstanding accomplishments in business and tourism leadership in the region.
Frans Menz receiving Lomati Sawmill’s award on behalf of General Manager Tewie Giliomee.
Lomati was shortlisted with competitors: The Rest Nature Estate and the Momentum Properties Riverside Mall. Entries for these awards are judged on the basis of a turnover greater than R20 million, financial and environmental performance, Corporate Social Responsibility and a customer survey that is facilitated by the KLCBT.
The awards are a significant way by which the business and tourism community give recognition for excellence in the various sectors and in doing so, build confidence in the local business community.
General Manager Tewie Giliomee expressed his pleasure on winning the award. "We are very honoured for having been chosen as the winner. Competition is stiff and the entries go through a rigorous adjudication process. Having been shortlisted in itself is an honour. We initially entered the competition as an opportunity to benchmark ourselves against companies in our own sector, but being placed first amongst such a diverse group of competitors is an honour."
Winning the award has lifted Sappi's profile nationally, as the mill has been featured on the DStv Suburb Channel 260.
Please join us in congratulating Lomati's management and staff. You have made Sappi proud.
