The designers were given full creative freedom and boy did they use it. The designers, well pimps actually, had just under a month to give the tables a well deserved tabletuck and restore them to their former glory as a centrepiece in their homes.
Now it is time for these tables to bask in the limelight. Their names illuminated ready for fame and fortune - not forgetting their genius owners who pimped them to this illustrious state – at the Pimp My Coffee Table feature area and be a part of history as this quirky design competition is a first for South Africa.
Be sure to check out the pampered, pimped and table-licious coffee tables on display in all their regained glory at the 2008 Johannesburg Homemakers Expo (Coca-Cola Dome 21 – 24 February).
The award-winning pimps who participated in the fun design competition were; MSB Design, Maarit Tevanlinna-Alvarez, Brass Images, Bronze Age, The Art Studio, Bushfire Design, Pod Design, Phil Oosthuizen, Joom, Liam Mooney and the 94.7 Ground Patrol team.
This is Homemakers Expo's 15th year of successful exhibitions and appropriately the winning Pimp My Coffee Table designer will receive R15 000 in cash (R5 000 for themselves and R10 000 a charity of their choice).
