Show profile Hide profileRadiohead since 1973. Still loving radio and still learning about it. Dj'd on Swazi Radio, SABC, Radio 5 and 702. Landed up running 702 in 1987. Lead the team that introduced talk radio in SA in the late 80's. Got a great kick when 702 became a thorn in the side of the apartheid regime. Attended Jablani! Freedom of the Airwaves in Holland in 1991 where the future of the broadcasting industry in a post-apartheid SA was planned. As the only capitalist in this conclave of socialists, communists and trade unionist I had to fight hard to get commercial radio accepted as a third tier along with the public service broadcaster and community broadcasters.
Annointed "Comrade Capitalist" as a term of endearment. Appointed CEO of Primedia Broadcasting in mid-90's. Established United Stations in 2000, sold it to AME Ltd and ran AME until 2004.
Now consulting to radio stations internationally, blogging and tweeting and having a ball.
