Trace TV Pty Ltd based in Johannesburg in charge of Trace TV business in Southern Africa (Trace Urban, Trace Africa, Trace Gospel and Trace Toca) and (2)
Trace Studios Pty Ltd based in Cape Town, an award winning audio-visual production managing the content production side of the business. The position may require travel between Cape Town and Johannesburg to fulfil operational needs, depending on the base location of the role holder.
We’re in search of a qualified and resourceful Junior HR Manager to support our HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations with both administrative and operational responsibilities within all the function aspects within the HR ambit. The goal will be to provide excellent assistance and support to employees and managers to support and develop talent through developing policies and managing procedures.
Objectives of this role- Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
- Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
- Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
- Suggest new procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and Company to improve employee experience
- Ensure legal compliance of South African labour relations regulations, Company policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities- Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
- Handle all administrative tasks for offboarding, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
- Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, facilitating disciplinary hearings, organisational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
- Administer payroll processing monthly of all employees with the outsource payroll company.
- Execute Employment Equity, WSP&ATR, SA Stats, COIDA reporting and BBBEE reporting requirements.
- Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies. Executes interpretation, and upkeep of company policy handbook, and organisational chart.
- Originate and lead HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture and assisting in performance management and improvement of systems
- Organise and monitor employee performance reviews with Line managers and employees
- Employee relationship management. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace. Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organising team building activities
- Develop and maintain talent management processes. Execute training and development initiatives to support employee growth and empowerment.
- Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems. Gather and analyse HR data with useful HR metrics for reporting information.
Education and experience requirements:- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
- 5-8 years Proven experience as an HR generalist, HR practitioner or Junior HR manager
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans. French will be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Good knowledge of employment labour laws
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; Google Suite and HRIS systems
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication abilities and strong work ethic, and cultural awareness
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Aptitude in problem-solving
- Desire to work as part of global HR team with a result driven approach
- Awareness of BCEA, LRA, SDA, BBBEE, EEA, SDA OSHA, regulations, and compliance
