      Role overview: senior digital strategist

      Our Cape Town office is offering an exciting opportunity for a senior digital strategist to join our dynamic team. If you are a creative visionary with a passion for analysing data, mastering digital channels, and shaping exceptional consumer journeys, this role is for you. In this position, you will drive innovative strategies that push the boundaries of digital marketing and the e-commerce environment. Your expertise will not only inspire our creative teams but also directly influence impactful work for our clients.       Key roles and responsibilities

      Leadership:
      • Drive strategic digital thinking within the agency and with clients.
      • Deeply understand our clients, their businesses, objectives, and brands.
      • Present to digitally savvy C-suite clients, building trust and establishing the agency’s thought leadership.
      • Be the agency's go-to expert for digital insights and recommendations.
      • Lead digital innovation by staying ahead of new trends and developments.
      • Proactively develop strategies, measurement plans, and proposals that add value for both teams and clients.
      Strategic work:
      • Deliver comprehensive reports, research, analysis, audits, planning, pitches, and strategy presentations to help teams and clients achieve their goals.
      • Develop digital strategies at both brand and campaign levels, including behaviour analysis, customer personas, segmentation, and best practice channel recommendations.
      • Create insights from social media listening, website evaluations, usability reviews, and channel planning, including SEO and launch plans.
      • Add value to existing consumer and brand strategies, developing personalised marketing strategies to enhance customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
      • Produce work across platforms, including websites, apps, e-commerce, SEO, social media, influencer marketing, direct marketing, and performance marketing.
      • Continuously conduct competitor, industry, trend, and digital landscape reviews to keep strategies cutting-edge.
      Output management:
      • Lead and collaborate with teams to implement innovative digital marketing and channel strategies that deliver tangible business results.
      • Work closely with clients, client service, and creative teams to ensure strategies are executed effectively or provide direction when adjustments are needed.
      • Simplify complex ideas for clear alignment among all stakeholders.
      • Liaise with external suppliers and key stakeholders, such as paid media agencies, to ensure seamless teamwork.
      • Regularly review outputs to ensure optimal performance of channels, tools, and campaigns.
      • Keep the agency informed about innovations, industry changes, and opportunities for collaboration.

      • Market understanding: Deep knowledge of the South African market and its digital channels and consumer behaviour.
      • Digital expertise: Extensive understanding of digital marketing channels and how to strategically use them to achieve brand and business goals.
      • Retail experience: Experience with retail brands is a plus.
      • Tools proficiency: Comfortable with MAC, Microsoft Office, Google products, and tools like Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio, Falcon, Brandwatch, and Similar Web.
      • Adaptability: Grasp of emerging digital tools and trends.
      • Mobility: A driver's licence and own transport is advantageous but not essential. You will need the ability to attend workshops, client meetings, and presentations.
      Minimum education requirements
      • High school qualification
      • Relevant degree or diploma in advertising, marketing, communication science, or a related field
      • Proven expertise as a digital strategist or digital marketing manager, specialising in channel strategies, insights, and e-commerce journeys
      • At least four years in a leadership role
      • At least eight years of strategy experience
