Purpose of the position:
The senior accountant will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the company, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This position involves a wide range of accounting responsibilities, from day-to-day financial management to supporting the preparation of annual financial statements.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and oversee all Cashbook Journal entries.
• Manage all day-to-day financial requirements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Support the Finance Director in monitoring daily cash balances and determining cash requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, processing, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Handle bank administration, including new account setups and managing user lists.
• Load ad hoc payments, intercompany transfers, and wages & salary transfers.
• Manage staff reimbursements, petty cash, and company credit cards.
• Oversee the accounts of multiple entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Process General Ledger (GL) activities and journals (e.g., company credit cards, staff reimbursements).
• Maintain fixed assets and perform forex revaluation.
• Prepare SARS VAT201 and EMP501 submissions.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany reconciliations and month-end journal preparations.
• Assist in preparing annual financial statements and processing foreign payments.
• Provide support during audits, including responding to requests and facilitating the audit process.
• Mentor junior accountants, fostering their professional development.
• Prepare monthly management accounts for various companies.

Qualification requirements:

• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Fully computer literate, with proficiency in accounting software and tools.
