PR Account Manager

We are looking for a dynamic media pitching queen or king to work on a cool portfolio of fashion and beauty brands at OFYT out of our Cape Town offices.

The successful candidate will need to be obsessed with the local media landscape and must have a solid black book of media contacts to land our clients hot coverage in both long and short-lead media. They need to also have an understanding of the influencer marketing landscape and keep up to date with international and local fashion and beauty news, trends etc.

Excellent pitching skills, with a talent to come up with creative and relevant media angles, are an absolute must.

Responsibilities: 

• Work closely with the PR account director
• Build and update media lists across the fashion and beauty beats
• Secure media placements and coverage in top-tier media publications
• Assist with the development and execution of media and influencer plans and campaigns that meet client objectives
• Conduct weekly client meetings and provide ongoing communication and updates
• Excellent writing skills for releases, newsflashes and client collateral beyond email communication
• Monitor and measure the success of campaigns and provide weekly and monthly reports to clients
• Working alongside the PR intern to drive the ownership of daily coverage tracking for reports and timeous client coverage updates
• Demonstrate effective research skills and have a good eye for detail to put together presentations

 Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum of three years’ experience within a PR team in an agency environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, influencers and media contacts
• Creative thinker with the ability to articulate themselves and actively share ideas with the rest of the PR team
• Well-presented and articulate
• Punctual, reliable and professional
• Must be a team player with a good attitude and friendly personality

Salary will be in line with experience.
