A forklift operator is responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse or industrial setting. The role involves loading and unloading goods from vehicles, organising products within storage facilities, and ensuring the safe and efficient handling of materials. A forklift operator plays a key role in maintaining smooth operations, adhering to safety regulations, and minimising workplace hazards. The duties and responsibilities as detailed above may change and evolve over time. You may therefore be expected to perform duties outside of this current scope from time to time and or on an adhoc basis.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all warehouse functions are attended to ie. unpacking, packing, receiving, releasing and cycle counts.
• Placing cargo in correct holding bay and location.
• Loading of cargo being released , off loading cargo being delivered at the depot.
• Operating a forklift is essential.

Qualifications and skills

• Minimum Matric
• Previous work experience
• Previous experience in a similar industry with one to three years of experience
• Valid forklift license Code F1 and F12 would be an added advantage
