Join a dynamic team at a major telecommunications company in Johannesburg as a data engineer. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to play a pivotal role in transforming their data infrastructure and driving data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL processes to ingest and transform large volumes of data from various sources.
• Utilise AWS or other cloud technologies to build and manage data pipelines, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement data processing solutions using PySpark to process and analyse big data sets efficiently.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop data models, and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing robust data validation and monitoring processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data availability and consistency.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five years of experience as a data engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Strong expertise in PySpark for data processing and analysis.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing ETL processes.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data architecture principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
