Job OverviewWe are looking for a skilled and passionate qualified barista to join our café team. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in coffee preparation and customer service, as well as a genuine passion for coffee culture. You will be responsible for crafting high-quality coffee beverages, managing inventory, and providing an exceptional customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks, adhering to quality standards.
• Operate coffee-making equipment, including grinders, espresso machines, and milk frothers, with precision and care.
• Ensure consistent coffee quality by following standard operating procedures for extraction, temperature, and milk frothing.
• Engage with customers, take orders, and provide expert advice on coffee options and flavors.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation, including cleaning equipment and tools daily.
• Manage stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients, and notify the manager of reordering needs.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed, such as processing payments and coordinating with the kitchen team.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Barista certification or relevant training in coffee preparation is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a barista in a high-traffic café or restaurant.
• Skills:
  • Expertise in coffee preparation, from espresso extraction to latte art.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee beans, grind size, brewing methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Other:
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
